Christopher Pilgram has come to the end of himself. He's at a crossroads and is questioning God's goodness after losing everything he holds dear. Now he must confront the age-old problem of pain: Why would a loving God, who knows his struggles and has the power to stop them, allow him to suffer?

After leaving the hospital bed of his beloved, and departed, Gram, Chris goes on a journey of self-discovery. He must confront his doubt in God's goodness. In his darkest moments, he wonders if God even exists. But he isn't on this journey alone.

On a bus ride to what could be his final destination, Chris encounters fellow-travelers that guide him--both for good and for evil. After a brush with the supernatural, he begins to wonder if they are really who they claim to be.
